In spring 2009, a South American cement plant asked Menzel Elektromotoren to manufacture a motor as a replacement for the main drive of a cement mill.

The motor was manufactured exactly according to the drawing of the original machine. But the client’s purchasing department missed a modification that had been done on the motor afterwards. This modification refers to a platform in the air-air- heat exchanger at the shaft end (DE). This platform is necessary because the vertical mill runs there.

Within ten days time, Menzel Elektromotoren modified the air-air-heat exchanger for the customer to be able to satisfy this demand also.

On the occasion of a production failure in spring 2010, Menzel technicians exchanged the original motor with the reserve manufactured by Menzel in the customer’s works within 48 hours. Together with technicians from the gear producer Renk, the complete assembly, check and delivery were done.

The order was carried out to the customer’s utmost satisfaction. The customer already ordered a replacement motor for another plant.
